Tote AND Barrel Pick-up System

  • Today
    • We’re going to combine the stacker with the wheeled grabbing system
    • Stack in front of the robot in a (really big — cf. David’s hand gesture) magazine
    • “Lock-pick” lifter design from Ri3D
    • Combine with extendable arm to reach around and grab/throw containers out of the way during autonomous (key thought: knock containers into Auto area!)
    • Do we want a magazine of totes in the robot or just stack in front of us?
      • Ri3D stacks aren’t always aligned (but we could have a stack straightener-upper stick or something)
      • Ri3D backs-and-forths a lot to build stack… but uses the grabber arms to align with bottom box to build stack
      • How do we put down the stack once it’s in the magazine?
      • Holding the totes out in front of the robot requires a lot of careful center of mass calculations
  • Planning
    • Mr. Wells leads a team to work on center of mass problems
    • Mr. Roche leads a team to work on the wheeled grabber
    • Mr. Roche is working getting the RoboRIO working
    • Mr. Wells
