Scrum Notes > Tuesday, January 21

  • Yesterday Update —-2 students and all mentors needed more students
    • Did some human powered testing
    • Mentors bent the shooter 1/2 inch electrical conduit
    • Particularly near the pivot (Mr. Wells has reinforcement idea)
  • CAD TEAM (Niles, Joey)
    • Buidling a basic shell of robot in Autodesk
    • Have the square box made out of Andymark CAD files
    • Putting in motors
    • Maybe less CAD now and more actual building…..
  • DRIVE TEAM (Jane, Cynthia, Ryan Mr. Roche)
    • Chassis is made, but screws don’t go in fully
    • Heads are smaller (fillester heads not as tall)
    • Need to take the out and need to tap the hole
    • Rethreading Holes (Jane Mr. Wells David?)
    • Added leads to the motors all 4 are done
    • Looked at software needs for El Toro
    • Determined that system needs to run 3 motors (2 mini sim, 1 window motor) and have 1 limit switch and 1 Pot/Encoder for running the cycle (get a 360 degree pot)

FIELD Design

    • set up books store with target
    • and marked up the truss
  • T-Shirt Design
    • Sara Kim is doing a final drawing
    • Drawing should be done by Friday
  • El toro (David)
    • Trying to get El Toro done by Thursday? (Getting worried hitting 3 week mark in build cycle….)
    • Trying to get machining done tonight
  • Bumpers
    • Wood going to Katrina
    • Katrina picked up bumpers
    • Thought about drilling a new mounting hole for back, but Mr. Wells thought no

  • Shopping List
    • Current awaiting the arrival of…
      • Gearmotor and mounting brackets
      • Second axis camera and encoder mounts
      • Hubs, window motor mounts and hex shafts
  • Shopping List from Tuesday….
    • Better limit switches
    • Other kind of pot that dont have stick
    • On line order

Priority is for el toro Makiing motor mounts.

Need more output on building.   Need to get building.  Starting to hit the difficult part and we are not getting stuff built.

Need to do the Tap thing with drive train quickly

These will happen no matter what

  1. Drive
  2. Herd
  3. Score >= 6 pts
  4. Bumpers
  • Do this first week, while prototypers prototype
  • Documentation

Prioritize, try to get to as many as possible

  1. Maneuverable (drive train and practice)
  • Mecanum wheels
  • Hold (hardware) a. with potential to shoot if that system comes online b. Loading (hardware) — might not even need this
  • Shoot 8’ (hardware)
  • Some aiming (software)
  • Second robot for driving practice/thinkin’

If Time Permits

Reach goals

  1. Catch
  2. Differential power settings
  3. Vision system
  4. Modular goalie arm (sub 30 lb, replace shooter at competition)

  • Clean up after yourself
  • Help teammates clean up after themselves
  • We don’t leave until we scrum… we don’t scrum until the shop is clear
  • Half-finished projects go on shelves, not the floor
  • Scrap is only useful if it’s stock, stock is only useful if it’s organized
